How to hook a line level converter to a 2000 Ford Taurus stock stereo.?

i bought a New MA Audio 600 Watt Dual 8 Inch Loaded Car Sub and i bought a 250 watt amp and a wiring kit and everything i read that need a line level converter. i have hooked up a woofer and amp before but not to a stock system. i need to know everything about hooking up an amp to a stock system, what i need, and how to hook up everything i need .

if you are doing a sub tap them at the rear speakers on the back deck

connect the convertor to the rear speaker wires as listed above , then plug in the RCA's from there to the amp. you will have to adjust the gains on both the low level and the amp.
you'll have to run power and ground to the amp as well as a remote wire , you can tap the yellow black on the stock stereo

I bought a 12 inch Rockford Fosgate Punch Woofer, need an amp.?

I bought it for $50. I was three weeks old. I was there when they installed it (I work at a ford dealership). It's product # is P2D212. It is in a QLoic box. Now, I need an amp to power this puppy. I don't know much about matching the RMS levels and stuff. I would like to know, what is the best amp for my sub, i only plan on this one. My price range is 0-225. Also, my buddy who is gonna install it said don't bother with the wiring kit. Should I just buy some wire from a hardware store? Or the kit. Please help. Thanks

Pretty much need an amp that is 250W RMS at 4 ohm load. Have your buddy wire the dual voice coils in series.

A lot of the 2-channel stereo amps can suit your needs. Just have to run the amp bridged mono.

I would recommend a wiring kit though. Most aren't all that expensive and if you have $225 to spend you can easily find a good quality low powered 2-channel amp and a wiring kit to fit that budget.
