Subwoofer System

I have a downstairs neigbor who is bother by my surround system subwoofer. Is there a way to dampen it?

I asked him and I think only the sub is bothering him. It is on the floor and I think the sound is going right through it, what can I place under it to dampen the sound?

Unless you can soundproof the whole room bass will find a way out. Really you should not have a subwoofer if you live in an apartment with someone living below you .You have to think of them also. I know what low frequency notes can do ,they drive you crazy if they get into your room from somewhere else .Go into your neighbours room and listen what your subwoofer is doing then you will see what its like .I bet you won't like it either,because it will be a boomy
irratating rumble. So i would say professionally soundproof the room or don't use the sub. Most of the time a sub. is not needed anyway.Putting the sub on rubber feet etc will not help. The sound waves have to be stopped from going through the floor and walls.
