It is a 350 RMS amp enough to power a 500 RMS sub?

Hello. I have a 500 RMS type [sub r model 1022D CA]-alpine. This sub is 2 ohms. I'm thinking of getting a 350 RMS at 2 ohms amplifier [Alpine MRP-M350]. Is this a good combination? It is an 8 gauge wire the best? Thanks folks.

How many watts RMS many want a sub that sounds good?
