Will I have problems connecting 8 ohm speakers to an amplifier that is 4 ohms?

I'm thinking of connecting a pair of 8 ohm speakers to a add-on 45W amplifier where connections 4 ohm speakers. I do not want to damage anything so I wondered if his approval.
