1 / 2 teaspoon baking powder
1 / 4 c. teaspoon salt
1 / 2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a saucepan combine 2 quarts caramels, margarine or butter and milk. Heat and stir over low heat until caramels are melted. Remove pan from heat and add sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Set aside.

In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add mixture to saucepan, stirring until smooth. Add nuts. Turn into a greased 9-inch square. Cook mixture in an oven at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cook in pan on a rack, then cut into bars. About 20 brownies.
