Is enclosed woofer is best or bass tubes ?

I have sony 12"(1400 W) alummium cone Enclosed type subwoofer. I had made a box for it but not the actual box which is recommended by sony for it and also not attached the sufficent power amplifier (amp. is about 600W). Now when i increase the volume above 60% it makes noise when it kicks the heavy bass. i listen the voice of base tube in my friends car which is only 300 W and 6" it is very good So bass tube is better than Enclosed sub's or it is due to worg box i made.

More than likely it is the box you made.
When you buy a sub-woofer it is not just a speaker slapped into a box. The manufacturer does extensive testing on the equipment, to make sure that when you purchase it , it sounds perfect.
