I need help with installing my car stereo(Easy 10pts)?

I have a 98 civic with a 1 din space. I found a nice stereo with a touch screen but it doesnt come with a dash kit. Do i need a dash kit thats is specifically designed for this stereo or would any dash kit that is for my year of car work for the stereo????

are some car stereos not compatible with older cars?

i have an 1992 bmw 325i and i just got a xo vision touch screen radio model number x400gbt. I have the picture and the menu but no sound...and i made sure i connected the postive wires...why no sound?

I would guess that you don't have the speakers wired correctly. Each speaker has its own positive and negative wire and the wires from your radio have to pair up with the correct wires.
