How do you remove a wire from a car stereo's wire harness?

I've got a 99 Dodge Stratus, and the back speakers won't work. To check if the problem is in the speakers (they are both wired on the left channel for some strange reason, so it could be a break in the wire along the way). Anyways, I was going to put the wires from one of the front speakers onto the outputs for the rear speakers, but I can't get the wires out of the harness. How do I get them out?

The wires are connected at the harness plug with little flat terminals that can be removed with a paper clip or special tool....the terminals are held in place in the connector usually by a small locking tang(s) on the terminal that engages in the plug and keeps the wires from pulling out. You have to slide a paper clip or a very small thin flat tool along the terminal to release or depress that little tang to allow the terminal to come out. If you pull on the wire a bit while peering at the terminal inside the connector, you can usually see the little tangs. Radio Shack sells tools for terminal repairs and removal--here's a link with pics

Depends on which harness you mean. If you're missing the harness that plugs into the stereo, you'll need to get one(try ebay).

If you mean the harness that connects to the car's wiring, try this:
1. connect the radio's black wire to either bare metal or the car's black wire.
2. twist the radio's red and yellow wire's together and, with the key off, touch them to one wire at a time until the radio comes on. Untwist them and connect the yellow wire to this wire(this is your constant power)
3. Turn the key on and touch the red wire to one wire at a time until the radio comes on. This is your switched power.
4. figure out the wiring for the speakers one at a time and you're done.
