need help to replace a front plate of my car?

i broke two keys to my car CD/MP3 Faceplate and have been using a pen to change the songs (I know, ghetto). i want to get a replacement faceplate, but can not find a serial number or product brand, on the faceplate or outside of the box stereo (do not want to open the case because I do not know what I am doing) what kind of faceplate is correct? all I know is that the "connection" in the back of the faceplate is about two inches from the left and take the cds in the top of the faceplate, if that helps.
