Car stereo options... 1600W amp two 12" subs?
I had recently installed four sony xplod speakers with the xplod deck. It doesnt have a sub-out feature, yet I would like to add a 1600w amp with two 12" subs. Would my best interest be to get a deck with sub out or is there another way around it? Thanks in advance...

Its not the sub-out, its the rear RCA imputs.
One should be white, one will be red.
I have one of those decks.
It does have a sub-out but it also has 2 amp pre-outs.
AND TO ALL YOU WHO JUST CURCE SONY BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE IT, YOU'VE NEVER USED IT SO SHUT! THEY HAVE SOME OF THE MOST POWERFUL RMS DECKS OUT THERE SO DON'T ASSUME THEY SUCK AND YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW!

Wiring a car stereo system the best way?
I have 2 amps: alpine f240 4 ch, alpine m350 mono, alpine type r 6x9 rear speakers, alpine type s 6.5'' splits in front, an alpine type s sub and a fusion ca-ip500 ipod deck with 4 pre outs. I am confused with the best way to wire the speakers to get the most quality from them. I heard someone say i should connect the speakers in series (8 ohm) from the amp to get more power. Is this correct? If so how do you tell what wattage this will be? Also how can i tell what gauge power cable i need? Much appreciated anyone that can help me!
To hook up the sub just connect the mono amp to the sub out of the head and the sub to the output of the amp.
As you have the 4 Chanel amp do not connect up the speakers in series or parallel as it alters the impedance (ohms) and you risk damaging the amp and the speakers. Just the amp up to the pre outs on the deck and one speaker to each of the appropriate channels. As for the gauge of power wire look at what the manual for the amps tells you to use, failing that check the total current out and then when you purchase the wire tell them the current that the amps draw and they should be able to calculate it out providing that it is a decent cable supplier
