Alpine PDX 1000.1 vs Alpine MRP-m1000?

I currently have the MRP-M1000 installed with my alpine type X. The Type X's RMS is 1000 watts. I'm thinking about selling my m1000 and buying the PDX but before i do i need to know whats the benefit of having the PDX over the m1000 and which would actually be better for my type x considering they both output about 1000 watts RMS.
My Type X is wired down to 2 ohms

The big difference between the PDX amp and the MRP amp, other than the smaller size of the PDX1.1000, is that the PDX can produce 1000 watts into a 4-ohm load. The MRP-M1000 can only produce 1000 watts if it's connected to a 2-ohm load.

If you have the 4-ohm DVC version of the Type X, it's probably wired down to 2 ohms, so changing amps won't make much difference. If you have the 2-ohm DVC sub, then it's most likely running in 4-ohm mode right now, so buying a PDX amp will give you more power.
